Blog Writing Guide
getsentry/skillsThis guide helps you write blog posts for the Sentry engineering blog. The goal is to sound like a senior developer explaining something they love. Be smart, specific, and a little funny. Avoid corporate language like 'best-in-class' or 'seamless.'
Every post must state the problem or state the conclusion in the first two sentences. Do not start with background or hype. Structure the article around what the reader wants to know. Use short paragraphs and break them at contrast points.
Readers trust honesty. Include trade-offs, things that did not work, and known limits. This builds credibility. The writing style is a conversation between Sentry and the reader. Use 'we' and 'you.'
